14 That Night

Takashi, a disgruntled junior high school student in1987, is bothered by the neighborhood's want tobe gangsters and resentful of his father's constant presence in their suburban home. However, he's smitten with Megumi, the ample-breasted girl who lives next door. Kyoko Yokushimaru is rumored to be coming to town for an autograph session at Takashi's favorite video store, where he and his judo pals sometimes congregate. The absurd yet important journey of these two begins. Who knows what Takashi will discover after all the unexpected twists and turns? For Shin Adachi, the Japan Academy Prize-winning screenwriter of 100 Yen Love, this debut picture is a nod to youth classics such as Stand By Me.
