The Comte de Gonzague schemes against his cousin even though he may be the Duke's heir and can inherit his estates. The discussion has kept secret the existence of the Duke's bastard. As soon as the Duke finds out of his child, he succeeds to wed the mommy, a baron's daughter, at her father chateau. The residents of the castle are both astonished and murdered his men and by the Count.
