Akeelah and the Bee
Tonight year old Akeelah Anderson's lifetime is not easy: her dad is dead, and she is ignored by her mom brother runs with the local gangbangers. Her environment threatens to grope her aspirations, although she's smart. Responding to a hazard with her school's main, Akeelah participates at a spelling bee to prevent detention because of her absences. Much to her embarrassment and surprise, she wins. Her principal asks her to seek coaching from a British professor named Dr. Larabee for its prestigious regional bee. Akeelah might provide some one to her community to rally around and be proud of -- but only when she can overcome her insecurities and her homelife that is deflecting as the possibility of which makes everything the way to the Scripps National Spelling Bee looms.
